SABA Member Meeting - August 2026
Speaker: Jordan Grady, President of the Butler County Chamber of Commerce
Jordan shared a bit of his background. He has been with the chamber since July of 2019.
Chamber Highlights
About 1,200 members total, which includes the memberships of SBCBA and Slippery Rock Business Association.
Main office on Main Street, Butler. Satellite location at Cranberry.
Leadership Butler County. 30th year. 27 members in class of 2027. Volunteer board of 13 people oversees a monthly meeting. Also the Butler County Youth leadership program for high school juniors.
Some access to options to fund working capital for small business.
Market members - highlight anniversaries, Sunday Showcase on social media
Host meetings & events (networking, etc.) at varied times and locations
Education & Training. (re)launched these sessions in 2024. Currently have a session bi-monthly at BCCC. Upcoming schedule is posted on the events tab of the chamber website about a month ahead of the event.
Chamber is a member of State and National associations. This provides some very useful data points to help inform the chamber.
Small Business Process. Everyone can access.
SCORE certification for business plans - process is very helpful to streamline planning, and can provide access to funding opportunities.
Assistance in completing Small Business Administration loan application.
Chamber is your "squeaky wheel" to help make sure you get the "grease"!
"Shark Tank" pitch contest started in 2026. 30 adult applicants. 5 chosen to pitch their business. Student category resulted in 2 finalists. About $10k in grants awarded to businesses. Around $7.5k in scholarships. One business received a $5k investment from two of the "sharks".
Preferred energy broker. Dave Grub operates a Butler County based energy procurement firm. He can evaluate your usage to determine whether you are missing any potential savings. Evaluate renewable opportunities as well.
Advocacy/Lobby Activity. Fighting against government activity that would negatively affect business in Butler County. Fighting FOR positive development. Several wins in this arena over the past few years.
Support and attend local business "ribbon cuttings".
